5 Minutes to Survive The Zombies | Devlog #4 - New content and further improvements!


Welcome everyone to a new 5MSTZ devlog! This time I'll be talking about the new content and improvements we made in the last week. Additionally, there'll be a small change to how I post these devlogs. From now on, instead of just posting once a week, I'll publish them on either Sunday or Monday (so in 7 to 8 days).



New content.

There were a couple of new things added to the game this past week. None of them were really that huge, but they are still needed and will improve the experience quite a bit.
First of all, we have a new map "Two_Forts" as seen on the screenshot below!

Next new thing is the map selection mode (for both official and custom maps). Now players'll be able to select and play any of the in game or custom maps!
(Menus for these modes as still work in progress, so please ignore any spelling mistakes etc.)



Also, additionally players will have the option to enable Cheats in these modes (either to practice or have some silly fun, there are quite a few possibilities!).
For now cheats enable the developer console which includes some useful commands.
(Again, still work in progress).

Improvements.

There was an improvement to the language/translation system which allows for custom translations (one at a time)!

Zombies now have randomly selected sprites! Here are some examples:


And we are working on adding snow to the game, though it still is in a very early phase. Here's a WIP screenshot:
